I don't think anyone could take the place of Lynda Carter anyone else would just feel like a fake.

It was a program made for the time it was in and trying to re-make anything from years ago seldom works.

A return of Wonder Woman would be great but my idea of her return on the small scene in animation. I greatly enjoyed the Ms. Lynda Carter series. The level of work she put in the series is one reason why its so hard to find anyone able to fill these shoes. Like Babe Ruth home run record it baseball very few can be Wonder Woman. When Ms. Lynda Carter smiled it was fire works inside my heart. Wow what star power. That incredible smile. She performed well and in my opinion was improving as Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman in the third season was starting to beat the bad guys up. Yes I would want a Wonder Woman but at the same time no. Ms. Lynda Carter is the first and the last but that would be stating no one should. That why go animation. Still Wonder Woman is a icon. More than your superhero. A symbol of what good about being an American. Wonder Woman is not just Women rights but our rights to pursue happiness reguardless of gender. She's a fantasy. A myth! She's stronger than Hercules, faster than Hermes, more beautiful than Aprodites and wiser than Athena.

In my heart, Lynda Carter remains "THE" Wonder Woman. Being realistic, she could be the Mother of WW. As to the new WW actress, while I have no names to offer, I do have a list to suggest:

Height: in todays world where I'm on the short side at 5'9", most of my friends are taller. Two are women over 6 foot tall. The taller is 6' 2". Yes, attitude or presensce can make a difference. I've read that Lynda Carter is just 5' 9", before the boots and she certainly pulled it off, but that was a generation ago. Whomever gets this role should be closer to 6 foot, or better.

Physical: Here Lynda Carter set the bar in terms of looks matching the mental image overall, as Reeves did Superman. She also set the bar with respect to doing many of her stunts. She wasn't model thin, she had some (well packed) muscle on her.

Here's the BIGGIE! Lynda Carter played it straight! NO nods or winks a la Adam West. She made us smile WITH her and FOR her, but NOT *AT* her!

Story: I liked both the 40's and the 70's styles. Both played off her reactions as a stranger in a strang--to her--land.

Sean: I imagine it's the classic origin, and if it isn't, it'll probably a version David E. Kelley comes up with. I wouldn't be surprised to see a relative unknown in the role. I have no inside knowledge though.

Pantagruella: I'd guess it would be modern, though I enjoyed both the 40s and 70s versions of the previous series.

Thanks for your comments!

I welcome the return of Wonder Woman. The original series was quite a rare blend of escapism and camp fun. I wonder in what period of history they will set the new series. I doubt they will bring back the Germans.

Actually I think a TV revival would be perfect for Wonder Woman. As a child of the '70s I can remember watching Lynda Carter twirl about and while I do know it proved campy at the time, the show left its mark on America and on a wider scale than a movie could ever reach.

Wonder Woman is the epitome of what a female super hero should be and having her exploits reach millions of little girls -- and boys -- would be a far more effective outreach for the brand.

Now here is the real question: What version do you portray? The current revamped origin or the one most people are more accustomed to knowing? Also, do producers take a chance on launching an unknown in the role?
