More than 350 sellouts for Harry Potter 6

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (#6)

NEW YORK — The stars of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince have gathered at the Waldorf Astoria in New York to meet with American press about the film.

Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint braved torrential rain at the show’s London premiere Tuesday before arriving in New York on Wednesday.

It seems even Voldemort couldn’t stop the juggernaut of the Harry Potter films; MovieTickets.com has reported 350 shows for the film sold out a week in advance of the movie’s release.    The site reports 216 midnight sellouts in the U.S.

As of Wednesday, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” accounted for 61 percent of ticket sales at MovieTickets.com, ahead of “Ice Age 3″ and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”
