ZACH GALIFIANAKIS as Alan, ED HELMS as Stu and BRADLEY COOPER as Phil in Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' comedy "The Hangover," a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Ticket sales for the comedy “The Hangover” surged on Thursday at MovieTickets.com.   The site reported that the film, starring Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper, sold six times as many tickets Thursday as it did Wednesday.

Ticket sales continue at a strong pace on Friday morning — Movietickets.com reports that as of 10 a.m. ET today, the film has already sold half as many tickets this morning as it did all of yesterday.

“The Hangover” currently accounts for 35 percent of tickets sold at MovieTickets.com, ahead of “Up” (21%), “Terminator Salvation” (12%) and “Land of the Lost” (9%).   If this trend holds across the board, it looks like good news for “The Hangover” and not-so-good news for “Land of the Lost.”

“The Hangover” features a group of friends who head to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, only to lose the groom.  You can read Gene Triplett’s interview with co-star Justin Bartha, who plays the groom, and his review of the film at NewsOK.
