Will Ferrell as Rick Marshall, Anna Friel as Holly and Danny R. McBride as Will Stanton in Universal Pictures' Land of the Lost.

How will nostalgia affect the Will Ferrell adventure-comedy movie “Land of the Lost,” which premieres Friday?  Movietickets.com conducted a poll to see whether potential ticket buyers remembered the Sid and Marty Krofft 1970s series about a family trapped in a world of dinosaurs and strange creatures.

LAND OF THE LOST POLL

Land of the Lost opens in theaters June 5. Did you watch the 1970s television series the film is based on growing up?

50% – Yes

50% – No

Total Votes on MovieTickets.com: 2,632

With only 50 percent voting yes, it may not be a surprise that “Up” still leads ticket sales at Movietickets.com this week.  As of 2 pm ET today at MovieTickets.com, “UP” leads all ticket sellers with 36 percent of ticket sales.  Friday releases “The Hangover” and “Land of the Lost” account for 6 percent and 2 percent of tickets sold, respectively.

“Danger, Will Robinson!”

Oops I was Lost in Space instead of Land of the Lost. I’m even older. Sorry.

Lost in Space, robots, Land of the Lost, dinosaurs.
They did a Lost in Space movie in the late 1990s that bombed and that no one remembers… it might get another shot someday.
