I ask that only partly in jest, since there’s a storied history in dystopian science fiction of certain machines not continuing onward, either because of EMP or economic failure. If we can, in fact, have surrogates in 2054, shouldn’t there also exist the technology that would allow us to drive (or in the case of Mssrs. Spielberg and Dick’s “Minority Report,” not to drive) cool, self-directed Lexuses? Lexi?
