Can Angels & Demons unseat Star Trek?
Movietickets.com looks at the chances of “Angels & Demons” to unseat “Star Trek” as No. 1 at the box office this weekend. “The Da Vinci Code” opened to $77 million in 2006. As of today, it appears “Star Trek” still leads the way in early sales.
As of 12 p.m. ET, “Angels & Demons” accounts for 33 percent of tickets sold at MovieTickets.com today, while “Star Trek” leads all ticket sellers at 49 percent. Since Monday, “Angels & Demons” accounts for 16 percent of all ticket sales at MovieTickets.com, again second to “Star Trek” which is at 69 percent.
