Star Trek soars to $72.5 million
Box Office Mojo reports that “Star Trek” took in $72.5 million over the weekend, the best-ever opening for a “Star Trek” film and the strongest ever opening for the second weekend in May. Adding $4 million for pre-midnight Thursday screenings takes the total to $76.5 million.
“Star Trek” also set records with its IMAX release. I think the strong critical reception plus positive word of mouth could keep “Star Trek” plugging along for a few weeks. While there’s tough competition this summer, I think you could see “Iron Man”-like longevity from “Trek.”

most of the fans happy. And Zach is awesome as Spock, i could not see it any other way.anyway check this out, i stumbeled on to this page with some of
the oldtimmers of former star trek shows like Jeffery Combs and Gary Graham.
