Jeffrey Dean Morgan talks “Watchmen” sets

Working on a lot of “Watchmen” content for the coming weeks.  Here’s a short tease for Nerdage readers.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays The Comedian, talked about the importance and quality of the practical sets on “Watchmen.”  He was asked if he was worried the film would heavily use green screen technology.
“The only green screen really was used for Mars and Antarctica, and that was just budgetary reasons, or we would have gone there,” Morgan answered, laughing.
“The sets that they built, they were amazing. For me, it all really sunk in what the hell we were doing during the shooting of the Keene riots, and seeing this New York set with Archie (the Owl Ship) floating above, and 500 extras, and fires burning out of control. You just got the impression that things were really out of control!  Are we shooting here, or is this just going to burn down? It was pretty phenomenal.
“Everybody from the top down was so invested in this film, and the sets they built absolutely helped take you into this alternate reality.”
