Grant Morrison sucks! Hes such a ego-driven writer that hes more obsessed with trying to forever change/alter these iconic characters than he is with actually just writing a good story. Thats ridiculous, I wonder how many readers D.C has lost due to him and his drawn out, over hyped, lame story arcs that seem to never end. Im sure Bob Kane is rolling over in his grave. What a moron.

Batman is not truly dead, guys.
Darkseid’s Omega Sanction destroyed Bruce’s body, but warped his consciousness through time and space.
So the mind of the Dark Knight is still very much intact, and I don’t think that Grant would kill of one of the most iconic DC characters of all time without adding a twist to the story.
The real batman isn’t dead yet, friends.

Some writers think they are great because they change the hole essence of a character like they did in the stupid XMEN 3 now this jerk comes and kill one of the greatest hero os dc comics just because it sounds good…Morrison is an idiot that somebody gave him a weapon and used it against one iconic figure like Batman….shame on him….no creativity at all

I stopped buying the titles a year and a half ago after they killed Ted “Blue Beetle” Kord. Why waste the money? Just read the spoilers on the Internet. The story is always the same. If sales are down, kill the hero. Then find some cheesy time-continuum way to bring them back to boost sales. I get the same entertainment value reading the newspapers for killings. Comics aren’t very “comical” anymore. They are too “Watchmen” for me. Come on, Watchmen was in 1985. Do you have to keep having our heroes do evil or get killed? Let’s see some creativity and thinking outside the box. I’m not a Fanboy. I’m now a Banboy.

GRANT MORRISON DID NOT KILL BATMAN ! READ !

This is the death of a massive icon that’s been around for 70 years. Did you come up with the idea yourself? Did Dan approach you? How did the lead up happen?
MORRISON:…And I keep on stressing for people not to think of this as death. This is part of the story. There’s more cool sh– to come. It’d be too easy to think of this as the end.

The connection is obvious with Batman breaking his one rule about killing and with the gun, then subsequently dying.

MORRISON: Yeah. Part of Final Crisis also is that you’re dealing with gods and the Jack Kirby characters. I wanted this story to be mythical. It’s on that scale. It’s not meant to be about realism. It’s not meant to be about politics and about stuff that’s happening on the streets. It’s the story about what happens when gods start interfering with life and life becomes mythical.

For me, the root of the Batman mythos is the gun and the bullet that created Batman. So, Batman himself is finally standing there to complete that big mythical circle and to have the image of Batman up against the actual personification of evil and now he’s got the gun and he’s got the bullet. It seemed to me to work.

I think of these things in terms of music and if it sounds good. The event of Final Crisis has a very different feel because it’s about god. It’s about human beings drawn into the world of huge mythic events and the archetypes for myths become that much more obvious. So, the very big things that define characters become more obvious as we get closer to the end.

Grant Morrison blows! All he does is write these so-called “shocking” storylines and everyone hi-fives him. He ruins comic books. That’s it. If Batman was bumped off by The Joker, that would’ve been holy crap, fan-boys really would have lost their frickin’ minds. And Batman goes against his vow of not using gun, right then and there. Morrison needs to stop right mainstream books and stick to his creator-owned stuff.

And you know Nightwing is gonna be the new Batman, like you knew Bucky was gonna be the new Captain America. It just makes sense. Well, I’m done spending my money on DC, now that they bumped off there greatest superhero.

Wow Grant has balls....for killing off a DC iconic character....now watch them heads roll as the fanbase goes f##ing berserk with anger.
Five bucks says within in the next five years, Bruce comes back alive ala Barry, Hal, Oliver and Carter.

I gotta say, this was one of my least favorite super hero deaths. I mean, Final Crisis has been an all around train wreck and Batman, who hasn’t really even been a part of the crisis pops up long enough to die? Lame.
