I bought Amazing Spider-Man #580 specifically because it was written by Roger Stern. He was the writer on this title in the 1980s when I started reading it with the first part of his “Nothting Stops The Juggernaut” two-parter. Roger is probably part of the reason that Spider-Man is my favorite superhero. I continued to buy Amazing Spider-Man every month for years afterward.
I felt this issue was very well done; it was a single-issue story which covered almost all the things that I expect from a Spider-Man story: Peter Parker is worried about his Aunt May, Spider-Man has to stop a superpowered criminal, and Peter is able to sell some Spider-Man photos so that he can make money.
