“Graysons” cancelled before it gets started

According to Variety, “The Graysons,” a planned CW series that was to focus on a pre-Robin Dick “DJ” Grayson, won’t be produced.  The statement released said “The Graysons” didn’t fit with Warner Bros. Batman strategy; it’s also reported that Christopher Nolan wasn’t sold on the concept.  There’s also speculation in the article that having a Batman-themed TV show on the airwaves (even one without Batman) could potentially hurt the box office of a Batman film. (I think that’s ridiculous, but would listen to arguments otherwise, I suppose.)

I wasn’t sold that “The Graysons” was going to be good, as yet, so, it’s not going to kill me to not see this. Though rough week for Dick Grayson, with first his comic book cancelled and now this.

On the positive side, I probably won’t have to come up with Dick Grayson as Robin pictures to illustrate “Graysons”-related posts anymore.

That sucks. Now what can I look forward toward a year from now?
