Newsarama’s Vaneta Rogers has a nice interview with former “JLA” artist Howard Porter, about the injury that nearly destroyed his career, what he’s been doing since, and his current comics comeback. It’s a moving piece that will remind you how a freak occurence could change anybody’s life in a matter of moments.
An excerpt, in which Porter talks about hitting his low point:
And I tried to draw, but I couldn’t really hold the pencil correctly. And I got pretty depressed. And I just gave up. I just said, I’m not going to draw anymore. And it took a couple of months for me to accept that, to accept that I wouldn’t be able to do this for a living.
Go and read the whole thing, but the upshot is, Porter has made a comeback - he worked on DC Universe: Decisions #2, out now, and is heading to “Titans” in November.
