Dynamite reveals “Death-Defying Devil” info
Spinning off from “Project: Superpowers,” the Death-Defying Devil gets his own series in December. (The Devil was known as Daredevil in the Golden Age, but nowadays Marvel holds the trademark to that name pretty tightly.)
Dynamite has brought in Joe Casey to script the series, with art by Edgar Salazar. Alex Ross will provide covers, and John Cassaday will provide an alternate cover.

Shadowline announces webcomics
Nerdage readers got a bit of a sneak peek at this, as Neil Kleid of “Action, Ohio” mentioned it in his recent “Ursa Minors” interview — Shadowline is launching a Web comics line of a bunch of stuff that seems pretty good, actually. “Finder,” probably the best science-fiction comic you haven’t read, finds a home, along with “Chicago: 1968″ and “Brat-Halla.” Here at Nerdage, we’re looking forward to checking out “Hannibal Goes to Rome,” and hope to bring you guys an interview with creator Brendan McGinley shortly. Give them a read at http://www.shadowlinecomics.com/webcomics/. You can read the press release after the cut.

Comics shipping 9-24-08
We could talk about other comics – and I will here shortly - but let me just congratulate Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting on the conclusion of “The Death of Captain America” saga. Be sure to pick up issue #42, on sale Wednesday. The “cursing Batman” nonsense that caused some retailers to look shortsighted and greedy and DC Comics to look unprofessional (really, no one came out well, here) comes out this week in its hopefully properly edited edition. Full list and commentary after the break.
Conan O’Brien on cursing Batman
And, I know it’s a joke, but, no way did kids get ahold of this comic book.
Green Hornet gets director
According to Superherohype, Stephen Chow, the star and director of “Kung Fu Hustle” and “Shaolin Soccer” will direct and star in “Green Hornet” alongside Seth Rogen.
Green Hornet is set for relase June 25, 2010, and was written by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg.
Chow said: “I’m excited to be taking on ‘The Green Hornet’ — obviously, I’ve been a huge fan of the show since I was a kid. The idea of stepping into Bruce Lee’s shoes as Kato is both humbling and thrilling, and to get the chance to direct the project as my American movie debut is simply a dream come true. I’m grateful to my friends at Sony, who have shown so much faith in me for so many years. I’m looking forward to working with Seth, Evan, Neal, and the team at Sony, and I’m eager to get started.”

New “Spirit” posters released
UGO.com has the latest posters and artwork from Frank Miller’s “The Spirit” film, set for a Christmas release. I think that’s a cool looking poster, though I’m still thinking the film may be doomed to “interesting failure.”
I can’t remember who I’m stealing this from, but I heard someone say something along the lines of “Did we need an Adam West ‘Sin City’ film?’ in reference to “The Spirit,” and from what I’ve seen of it, that seems strangely appropos. Still, you know I’m going to see it anyway.

Staticblog asks “Either-or,” Heroes edition
Over at George Lang’s Staticblog, he often asks his readers to choose between two options in the game “Either-Or.” Here’s how George describes it:
In Either/Or, we take two people in similar pursuits, and you choose between them. It can be based on any criteria: professional ability, personality, intellectual prowess, physical pulchritude, or who you’d want backing you up in a knife fight. It really doesn’t matter: just choose Either/Or.
This week, it’s a “Heroes” theme, as readers can choose either Ali Larter (pictured) or Hayden Panettiere; or on the male side of things, Zachary Quinto or Milo Ventimiglia.
Feel free to make your voice heard on this important issue.
