DC Comics was a big winner at the 2008 Harvey Awards over the weekend, with “All-Star Superman” taking home three awards.  “All-Star Superman” won best single issue, for issue No. 8, and best series.  Frank Quietly, the “All-Star Superman” artist, won the best artist award.

Also for DC, Darwyn Cooke was named “Best Cartoonist” for “The Spirit” and Brian K. Vaughan won for “Y: The Last Man.”

I loved all of those. I can’t wait for another Scott Pilgrim book.

I really fell in love with All Star Superman. I think if there was a best single page category I would give it to the page in (issue unknown right now) where Supes takes time to stop a thin goth-kid from jumping off a building in the midst of his day trying to save himself, and leave a lasting record of his life. He was a busy guy that day and seeing him hug this poor kid and prove to him that someone did care was the best page of a comic I’ve seen this calander year.

It’s a great series.
