Comics shipping 9-24-08
We could talk about other comics – and I will here shortly - but let me just congratulate Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting on the conclusion of “The Death of Captain America” saga. Be sure to pick up issue #42, on sale Wednesday. The “cursing Batman” nonsense that caused some retailers to look shortsighted and greedy and DC Comics to look unprofessional (really, no one came out well, here) comes out this week in its hopefully properly edited edition. Full list and commentary after the break.

Re: Deadpool – well, I was more impressed that it sold out nationwide. I enjoyed it OK for what it was. I never really thought of Way as being able to do “funny,” so it was better than I expected.
It’s all about expectations, I guess. And I like getting the different takes on Secret Invasion on the ground, so to speak. I think we’re reviewing the second issue on the show, so I’m reading at least one more of them! I shall let you know.

I have to read “Back Issue” just to read those interviews. Shazam! probably as bad as I remember, and yet I still watched it.
Reading Back Issue, I am reading the article about the Superfriends. Issue #7 of the Superfriends has a bunch of new characters that are not of the JLA, but from the Global Guardians. One character was Owlwoman from the great state of Oklahoma!

The several people who tell you that X-Factor is their favorite X-book need to read any. other. x-book. I personally have found Uncanny to be, with the addition of Matt Fraction, to be nothing short of ‘Astonishing’. Just fun, good fun.
I think I’ll get that Marvel Boy HC. I enjoyed the series back in the day.. Glad someone is finally using him again.
Did Deadpool really impress? I found it mostly lackluster… I for one loved the old Ed McGuiness series from years back. And the limited series with Slayback.
I’m going to get Wolverine First Class because of you… Do not disappoint me, Matt.
Oh, look. Ms Marvel AND Si: Spidey in the same week. All the Brian Reed you can sink your teeth in to….
