Comics shipping 9-10-08
The biggest releases this week are likely the doubleheader of Stephen King comic books. The third “Dark Tower” series, ”Treachery,” kicks off, as does the comic book adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand.” Fabian Nicieza wraps up his Batgirl story in “Batman Confidential.” And there’s that little thing we’re calling “Secret Invasion.”
Full list and commentary after the break.

DEADPOOL #1 LIEFELD VAR SI
I debate over whether to include the variant covers or not on this shipping list, but in this case I left it in order to point out that I had to correct the spelling of “Liefeld” from “Leifeld.” I realize he’s contentious in some quarters, but come on, he created the character! You should at least spell his name right.

And, here’s the regular cover. Deadpool is back, tying into Secret Invasion, and written by Daniel Way.

They’ve been doing some work with Kenzer and Company, and now they’re the artists on this series from Devil’s Due. The company describes the series as “The Ghostbusters” meets “The X-Files.” You can see a preview here. The writer is director/producer Todd Livingston (“So, You’ve Downloaded a Demon”), who also wrote the Image Comics graphic novel “The Black Forest.”

Big Hero 6 appeared in a limited series around 2000. They were Japan’s super hero team, founded by Sunfire, and featuring brand new characters.
They had an annual team up with Alpha Flight, i want to say, or maybe not. They weren’t around very long, and faded away, used occasionally by creators over the years.
I don’t believe they were created by Chris Claremont, and I’m avoiding going to Wiki to get the easy answer.
It was a fun limited series. it was “Sunfire & Big Hero Six”, i think. When Sunfire had the black cancer, when he left Alpha Flight? Right? During the conspiracy Alpha Flight years? With Flex, Murmur, actual Sasquatch, and the Zodiac as bad guys?

“CIVIL WAR HOUSE OF M #1 (OF 5)
It’s sort of like “Crisis on Infinite Earths Millennium.”
I hate to ask, but which one would be considered Millenium?
