Comic shops in the US will get comic books a day late because of the Labor Day holiday, so, keep that in mind this week. I’ll most likely post a shipping list late tonight or tomorrow.

“Comic shops in the US”…
So when can we expect comics to ship in Madripoor this week?
September 3rd, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Sometimes out-of-US stores are on a different schedule, and, since I don’t really know what it is, I figured I’d clarify.
Comics shipping in Madripoor is likely controlled by the prince, like everything else!
September 4th, 2008 at 5:01 pm
You mean Viper? Or, who just overthrew her… Tyger Tyger? I think that’s right. (Wiki says Tyger Tyger is the current head of state; I think this happened in the Iron Man annual last year)
I wonder if you can get comics in Patch’s bar…
September 4th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
I was thinking old-school! In the Claremont issues, Tyger was subservient to the prince. Mayhap things have changed since 1988 in the comics — who would’ve thought?
(I like those old Madripoor issues though!)

I tried to comment on the “Shipping List” post, but it wouldn’t let me. I went ahead and did my own commentary. Not cause you asked, but because i was bored…
And lame….
“UNSOLICITED GUEST COMMENTARY BY CODY:”
ADAM STRANGE SPECIAL #1
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #570 MONKEY VAR NWD
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #570 NWD – Part 3 of “New Ways To Die”, which features the pretty hilarious Venom vs Anti-Venom vs Spidey fight. This reads like such great Spidey classics, it’s a shame we had to have OMD to get this inspired BND. Also, Norman Osborn. And the last page is worth a good chuckle.
ANGEL AFTER THE FALL #12
ARMY @ LOVE THE ART OF WAR #2 (OF 6) (MR)
ARMY OF DARKNESS #12 LONG ROAD HOME
AUTHORITY #2
BATMAN STRIKES #49
BOYS #22 (MR)
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #18 – “Time of Your Life” Part 3, featuring the Buffy/Fray crossover. And Dawn is still a centaur. A hot centaur. Grrowwwl.
CHALLENGER DEEP #1 (OF 4)
DEAD OF NIGHT DEVIL SLAYER #1 (OF 4)
DETECTIVE COMICS #848 RIP
DREAMLAND CHRONICLES IDW #3
EL DIABLO #1 (OF 6)
END LEAGUE #4
ETERNALS #4 – Is anyone reading this? I am. I think. For the art. Sigh.
FABLES #75 (MR) (NOTE PRICE)
FRINGE #1 (OF 6) – Based on the upcoming Fox TV show from creator JJ Abrams. Debuts Tuesday night, check local listings.
GALAXY QUEST GLOBAL WARNING #2 – Continuing the movie-spin-off. The first issue, I thought, took it’s time to find it’s footing, but at the end of the day, the movie is hilarious.
GREEN LANTERN #34 – Yeah, I thought this was the last part of Secret Origin. Not so much. Geoff Johns continues to write better comics than any of us could hope for, and this issue deals with tying the upcoming “Blackest Night” and War of the Spectrums into Hal Jordan’s first outing as a GL. And, oh yeah, Sinestro isn’t a prick. Yet. Great stuff.
HELLBLAZER PRESENTS CHAS THE KNOWLEDGE #3 (OF 5) (MR)
HOUSE OF MYSTERY #5 (MR)
IGOR MOVIE ADAPTATION #3 (OF 4) – Because you demanded it. A comic tie in to the movie you weren’t going to see.
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #5
INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #5 MONKEY VAR – Somehow I ended up with the monkey variant. I want to trade it back. Matt Fraction continues to show why he’s the greatest new voice in comics.
IRON MAN GOLDEN AVENGER – I don’t know what this is, but I flipped through it, and it had Whiplash in it, so it can’t be bad.
JONAH HEX #35
KNIGHTS OF THE DINNER TABLE #142
LOONEY TUNES #166
MANHUNTER #34
MARVEL APES #1 (OF 4) – I didn’t get this. What’d you say? Sorry, I thought you said, “What’s a gibbon?”
MARVEL APES #1 (OF 4) BACHS VAR
MICHELANGELO THIRD KIND #1 (OF 4)
MS MARVEL ANNUAL #1 – If the art of Ms. Marvel was this good all the time… Well, it still wouldn’t be a good book, but it’d at least look fun. Brian Reed, hot (pr, rather, coolish) off of his Secret Invasion Band New Day Spider-Man, brings Spidey into Ms. Marvelland… which is about as interesting as you’d expect.
NECRONOMICON #1 (OF 4)
NEW BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SEASON ZERO #12
NIGHTWING #148 RIP
NOBLE CAUSES #36
PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #23 – It was in this series, around issue 6 or 7, that the previous “What’s a Gibbon” joke was made. Hilarious. Go pick it up. Backissues at Speeding Bullet, or wherever finer comic books are sold.
PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #23 MONKEY VAR
ROBERTS #1 (OF 2) (MR)
SAVAGE DRAGON #137 – I used to read this. This one has Obama on the cover. Next week, Sarah Palin’s daughter shows up in Teen Titans.
SAVAGE TALES #9 (MR)
SECRET INVASION FRONT LINE #3 (OF 5) SI – You know, I liked the original Front Line for Civil War. Then with WWH, I kinda got bored. And I forgot to care to buy this series when it started. I figure, I’m reading 57 marvel books with Secret Invasion stories a month, surely ONE of those shows a different point of view.
SECRET SIX #1
SHONEN JUMP OCT 08 (C: 1-1-0)
SPAWN #182
SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE SEASON 2 #2 (OF 5) – I miss Christina Strain’s coloring on this series. Otherwise, it’s pretty good. Not Sean McKeever good, but it’s getting there. A nice, cute, fun Spidey in high school series. No OMD required.
SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE SEASON 2 #2 (OF 5) MONKEY VAR
SPOOKS OMEGA TEAM #1 ARCHER CVR B
SPOOKS OMEGA TEAM #1 SEELEY CVR A
STORMING PARADISE #3 (OF 6)
SUB-MARINER DEPTHS #1 (OF 5) – From Peter Milligan and Essad Ribic. I didn’t pick it up, but a painted Sub-Mariner book can’t be bad.
SUPERGIRL #33
TANK GIRL VISIONS OF BOOGA #4
TITANS #4 – Man, Starfire is smokin’. So is Raven, even when vomiting into a toilet.
TOR #5 (OF 6)
TRANSFORMERS BEST O/T UK TIME WARS #2
TRANSFORMERS MOVIE PREQUEL SAGA O/T ALLSPARK #3
TRINITY #14 – Jim Lee Owlman looks fantastic. Mark Bagley deserves an Eisner for every issue, as his DC characters just get better and better.
TWELVE ½ - reprints from the 40’s featuring Fiery Mask, Rock Man, and Mr. E. Pretty neat to read. You’re paying $3.99 for $.40 worth of stories. Sigh.
UN-MEN #13 (MR)
UNIVERSAL WAR ONE #3 (OF 3) (MR)
VAMPIRELLA QUARTERLY SUMMER 2008 JUSKO REG ED
VENOM DARK ORIGIN #2 (OF 5)
VERONICA #190
VINYL UNDERGROUND #12 (MR)
WAR THAT TIME FORGOT #5 (OF 12) – You know, I like this series quite a lot. Dinosaurs. Biplanes. Robots. Roman gladiators. What’s not to like?
WITCHBLADE #120 HALEY & NOWLAN CVR B
WITCHBLADE #120 SEJIC CVR A
X-MEN MANIFEST DESTINY #1 (OF 4) MD – Sigh. The Karma story was cool to see Karma. The Iceman story was…. Well, it’s Iceman, so let’s celebrate that. Otherwise, your $3.99 is better spent on The Twelve ½. At least then, you know the stories were written in 1940 and that’s why they’re dated.
