I must say thank you, for attempting to do a Captain America film that is worthy of the great story arcs that have made the character the icon of our culture. I have read and saved Cap mags since the Avengers first pulled him out of the north Atlantic. I am thrilled to find out that included in this telling of the story that Bucky will be included. I have waited forty years for Bucky to get his due. Bucky is more than just a sidekick. To me he represents all of us that feel the true meaning of what it’s like to be an American and fight for the values that were more common place during the time of the greatest generation. How else would we know what Cap was really like as a person if not for the training that he gave Bucky? I don’t only mean the physical training, but the way Cap nurtured this young man to adopt the core values of what it took to be Captain America. I’m speaking of the life lessons that were passed along to this young man. Teaching him that you don’t always go in with guns blazing. He taught Bucky that in feeling compassion, and giving thought to their missions, we won more than just the battle. They were also over seas to set an example to the innocent people that they encountered, and were there to protect. It’s also how Cap taught all of us, through Bucky, we all learned. This is the perfect blend between two characters that always made me smile and feel good whenever I read of their exploits.
