According to Marvel’s first-quarter financial report received by Newsarama, Marvel has slated an “Iron Man”sequel and a ”Thor” film for 2010, and two “Avenger-themed” movies in summer 2011: “Captain America” in May and “The Avengers” in July.

I hope this reflects what we all think would be the right path:
Captain America is set in WW2 and ends with him going into ice.
Avengers opens with Stark & co finding him 60 years later.
That’s, really, the only way to do it. Not only that, but you can have a STRONG WW2 movie, with Nazi’s and the Skull and Bucky, and maybe some other Invaders in cameo roles, and then… BAM, he’s in Ice.
Two months later, Downey Jr’s Stark and Norton’s Banner find Cap in Ice.
(Sub-Mariner is attached at Universal, I think, and thus won’t be able to actually unearth The Capsicle from the arctic waters.)
Cap, Thor, Iron Man and Hulk… will we get Ant-Man and Wasp, too? Is the Ant-Man movie set up through Marvel or at a studio?
and, most importantly, will Nick Fury factor into it all? The answer, is, of course, yes.

“Captain America” really needs to be a World War II movie, and “Avengers” really needs to be the revival. Hope that’s how it plays out.
