Wacker on “New Ways to Die”

Comic Book Resources has an interview with “Amazing Spider-Man” editor Stephen Wacker, where he spills a few more beans about the “New Ways to Die” storyline coming up this summer.  Dan Slott and John Romita Jr. sounds like a great creative team, and from the story description, I’m interested in what they might do with this.  Seems like it could be one of those “fun summer reads.” (Like “The Crossing Line” in the “Avengers.” No, not “The Crossing.” “The Crossing Line!”  Issues 319-324!  Guest starring Quasar! Summer 1990? Fabian Nicieza? All right, maybe nobody else remembers that story, but it was good summer reading.)

Though I’m still aghast at One More Day, I’ve been keeping up with BND.

And I thought the last arc, with Zeb Wells writing and Chris Bachalo on art, was one of the most beautifully drawn and colored stories I’ve read in a long time.

Because, really, I just kinda look at the art of BND. I cannot help but think that the reasons for the Devil disavowing the marriage (there are some stories to tell with Spidey you can’t tell if he’s married) have so far NOT come up in BND. All of the stories that have been told could be the exact same if he were hitched.

Am I still bitter? yes. But i recognize that BND is fun, and it’s got great creative teams, and it’s not terrible.

It’s just hard to eat great food when you’ve got such a bad taste in your mouth from the appetizer.
