“Cable” sells out; second print coming
Marvel has announced that “Cable” #1, spinning out of the X-Men: Messiah Complex crossover, has sold out at the distributor level.
Written by novelist Duane Swierczynski (Moon Knight Annual) and artist Ariel Olivetti (Punisher War Journal), the new series sends Cable to the future with the mutant baby at the heart of X-Men: Messiah Complex — the first mutant born since the “House of M” crossover in which the Scarlet Witch mystically reduced the number of mutants in the Marvel Universe.
“Honestly, I’m stunned. Gobsmacked,” said Swierczynski in a release. “I’m also feeling grateful as hell right now — grateful that Axel gave me a crack at this, and grateful to everyone on the X-team who brilliantly cued up the story in pages of Messiah CompleX. And I’m grateful that X-fans took a chance with it — and I hope they stick with it over the next few issues, because there are a lot of surprises to come!”
