Video game baseball tour comes to Oklahoma

Major League Baseball is coming to Weatherford.
The birthplace of St. Louis Cardinals’ pitching ace Braden Looper is hosting a virtual baseball event this month: Baseball and video game fans can take part in 2K Sports’ third annual Major League Baseball video game tour on the campus of Southwestern State University. The “Major League Baseball 2K8 Video Game Tour,” highlights video games, music and sports.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 27 at the Clock Tower Lawn and Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus.
Gamers can participate in open play stations or compete in the Major League Baseball 2K8 Home Run Derby to win prizes.
The Weatherford event is considered part of the “West Coast” leg of the tour, and will feature Sirius Satellite Radio DJ and emcee, Statik Selektah.
Music cards and game demo discs will be given away at all tour stops. All participants will receive $5 discount coupons for Major League Baseball 2K8 to redeem at Best Buy.
In Major League Baseball 2K8, players can play, coach and manage their own teams, including 90 minor league teams.
The game also allows players to collect and trade virtual baseball cards within the game to create customized teams.
Major League Baseball 2K8, is rated E for everyone. The game is available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo Wii. For more information, visit www.2ksports.com.
