White, Weaver Sent To Tulsa
Rookies D.J. White and Kyle Weaver have been assigned to the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder’s D-League affiliate.
It’s the third time White has been sent to Tulsa and the first time Weaver has been sent down.
In four games with Tulsa, White has averages of 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists in 30.8 minutes. Weaver has played in 49 games for the Thunder, 17 as a starter, and is averaging 5.4 point, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 20 minutes a game.
The goal is to get both players extended minutes with the 66ers, more than they currently would with the Thunder. Both players are expected to be in uniform tonight when the 66ers face the Austin Toros but expect both players to be recalled before the end of the season.

yeah, this is getting old. I feel bad for both players. I should go see them here in tulsa before the season is over. Didn’t Kyle hit a big 3 towards the end of the spurs game last night?
they’re making room for shawn livingston to make his triumphant return from having his knee implode two years ago. its hard to put developing weaver ahead of implementing a 6′9 point guard with all kinds of raw talent.
I think Livingston is 6-7.
I’m pretty sure the reason they have to keep doing this with DJ is so that he’s able to practice with the Thunder and play with the 66ers. I don’t think he could practice with them if he’s on Tulsa’s roster. Yeah, it’s a pain, but thank goodness Tulsa is close.

Darnell,
This is off subject, but the next time you see Sam Presti, can you ask him about their plans with Serge Ibaka? Does he fit into the picture next year or in 2 years? How do they like his progression over in Spain? His stats suggest that he’s improved quite a bit this season.
Thanks and love the blog,
JK
(JK, I will have an update on Serge in Monday’s paper. Basically, the front office loves how he’s developing over in Spain. The plan is to bring him over to join the team for summer league play and evaluate him in an NBA-type setting. It’s still unclear if the team will bring him over for next season. My guess is no. But again, that’s just my guess. -DM-)

This is so random. Presti needs to either let DJ stay at Tulsa or stay with OKC. And why send Weaver to Tulsa? He is doing fine with OKC. I, honestly, don’t understand these moves.
