on window tinting in Edmond…
There are a number of vehicles on the road with expired tags, both temporary and permenant, which could indicate a failure to have valid insurance or a valid license. There are out of state tags that have been in the area for a number of months.
There are a number of vehicle that are visable unsafe for the roads due to previous wrecks or a failure to maintain the vehicle.
There are a number of individuals multitasking as they attempt to drive. often this includes cell phone conversations.
There are a number of high incident intersections as drivers choose to passs through red lights, attempting to beat the light or failure to drive defensivly. There are plenty of wreckless operators without tinting, be it speed or dangerous driving habits.
There seems to be a significant number of issues other than window tint.
Window tint becomes an issue when used inproperly. When reflective ‘mirror ‘ tint is used, it reflects the sun and is dangerous for other drivers. Front window tint is ALWAYS illegal regardless of the situation . Limo tint is specifically made to not be seen into or out of, again illegal in front and front side windows. Individuals with dark interiors tint , will appear darker from the exterior than those with light colors. The exterior of tinting is to “reflect” UV rays and reduce light transmisson, therefore it does appear to look darker from the outside. The recent comment , that if you can’t see in, then the driver can’t see out , is not the situation in many cases. Depending on the quality of the tint, vision can be very clear from inside. Tint is also capable of giving some security to those inside the vehicle.
Isn’t the legality of tinting already in place? Visually evident in misuse? Please pick and choose wisely, becoming knowledgable in types, reflectivity, interior glare percentages, and overall quality. However, please continue to address all other important issues on the roads as well.
