Good News

Well, the word from Houston was good.

My cancer had not grown to any significant degree since my last visit. An enlarged lymph node had not changed either. And there are a couple of experimental treatments that I may qualify for down the road.

So we spent a lot of time discussing the cause of my current side effects and how to manage them. I received a new prescription that may help. And my old stand-by, Nexium, will be used more.

While I was quite surprised by this news, based upon how lousy I’ve been feeling lately, there was little time for celebration. The news came just after 4 p.m., and our flight home was at 6:55.

We took a taxi to the airport, ate a quick bite, flew to OKC, and arrived back in Norman by 8:30.

Ahhh, home sweet home.

You’re perseverance is awesome. You still have special things to accomplish.

Great news.

Seeing the “Good News” on your latest post, made my day! God Bless you, Jim!

So glad to hear it, Jim! The prayers are still flowing…you have a lot of people pulling for you!

I have been praying for you since I read the first article in Oklahoman. Now, I read your blog. I really prayed hard today for good news after reading your blog yesterday. I have had cancer and my husband had a liver transplant last week due to liver cancer. I am so happy to hear the good news. God is still using you to help others and give your family and friends more time with you. God be with you always. I hope your new meds work and you will feel better soon.

Congratulations to you and your family!!! I love hearing about your good news. Peace & blessings to you & your family.

Whahoo! Jim, I’m so glad. Many prayers & hugs to you.

Wonderful news!

Great news. Hope your new script helps you feel better. Still working on your poetry book. Keep on pluggin. Your one tenacious guy!!

GREAT NEWS is more like it–I have to confess that I doubted

That is such great news!! Especially considering how crummy you were feeling. My husband’s aunt always told her daughter during the daughter’s chemo sessions that it was worth enduring “feeling bad,” because as bad as our cousin felt, the cancer likely “felt that bad, or worse.” It lightened our cousin’s depression in some darker moments. Your news totally made my morning!!!

So happy to hear this!

Keep hanging in there, Jim. God’s blessings to you!

I’m so happy to hear the good news!!

Great news!! So happy about this!! Love you and LeAnn lots!

HOORAY!!!

Sweet! Made my day! And welcome home.

I just saw your mom’s face book note about your good news. Wonderful. I hope to hear similar good news about the new experimental medicine. Blessings to you and the family

Great news! God bless you!

Oh Jim, that is great news. They are making such strides with new medicines, can’t wait until they find the right one for you.
