‘Walking Dead’ rumor: Fan-favorite character Tyrese might join Rick and company in December

This’ll be short and to the point: Entertainment Weekly recently interviewed “Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman, who said a fan-favorite from the comic series will make his/her debut in season three’s mid-season finale on Dec. 2. Kirkman didn’t confirm the character is Tyrese — a former NFL player turned bouncer turned survivor — but he also skirted around the questions:

“I don’t know, man!” says Kirkman. “I don’t know. I got no clue!” While Kirkman is playing coy, rumors have swirled that actor Chad Coleman (best known from The Wire and I Hate My Teenage Daughter) has been spotted in the Atlanta area where the show films and could be playing the comic book fave.

If it is Tyrese, I wonder if he’ll make it out of the prison/Governor story arc alive. He loses his head in issue #46 at the Governor’s hands, but the way the show has been somewhat unpredictable in terms of who goes and who lives (and when), anything is possible.

It’s come to this: Cinemark to begin rewarding moviegoers for not using their phones during movies

Oy vey.

Movie theaters are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to mobile phone use during movie screenings. Some, like the Alamo Drafthouse in Texas, has banned texting — If they catch you doing it, you’re sent walking. But Cinemark, one of the largest theater chains in the nation, is going about it a different route: They’re rewarding those who don’t text by sending them coupons. It’s all explained after the jump.

The LOLs: Most disturbing ‘Twilight’ merchandise of all time

“This might be a really clever joke, since Twilight is one of the biggest cash cows in history — but we have a feeling there’s no sardonic wit involved in this Twilight checkbook cover.”

io9 has a hilarious gallery showcasing all of the stupid, wonderful and outrageous products “Twilight” fans have access to should a fool be easily parted with his/her money. The gallery contains some not-safe-for-work images, so proceed when you’re on your own computer. But hit the jump for a handful of the items I literally laughed-out-loud at.

‘Game of Thrones’ returns March 31, 2013

Awesome.

Meet the pointy-eared villain in ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Malekith the Accursed is the big- bad villain in “Thor: The Dark World,” and is being played by Christopher Eccleston. Malekith has a host of Dark Elves with which he uses to go to war with Thor and the Asgardians. Malekith is a pretty cool villain, and he’s a great choice for the second “Thor” movie because it helps extend the fantasy side of the Marvel Universe. Click on either image to enlarge.

‘Beverly Hills Cop’ becoming a TV show… Without Eddie Murphy as the lead

Alright, look: Eddie Murphy is one of the funniest men on the planet. OK, so he’s taken a serious backseat to his hardcore comedic roots in favor for family-friendly cinema like “Daddy Day Care” and “The Haunted Mansion,” but the man is still hilarious. And I think, with the right script in his hands, he can totally make a comeback. Heck, I was even excited when a rumor sprung up that there would be a new “Beverly Hills Cop” movie coming soon. I was, for lack of a better term, stoked.

But today, thanks to Deadline, we learn that it’s not a movie, but a TV show… And that Murphy won’t be the lead. The lead will be Foley’s son, Aaron, played by “Tropic Thunder” star Brandon T. Jackson.

Is the Wasp in ‘Iron Man 3′?

There’s a person on Twitter who guys by the name Roger Wardell. No one’s sure exactly who he is, but he always has credible inside information on what’s going on with Marvel movies. In the past he’s hinted at Dr. Strange having a cameo in “Thor: The Dark World,” and just yesterday Wardell tweeted this:

Which leads me to believe Szostak will be playing the heroine known as the Wasp. Although there are a number of villains she should play (most notably Madame Masque), I just have a feeling Marvel would rather have a second female hero to go alongside Black Widow than have another villain for Iron Man and/or the Avengers to deal with.

My thoughts? Awesome. Potts suits up in the comic book for a short time, and it was a fun storyline. We’ll see how it does on the big screen.
