Rumor: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the new Batman, will be in 2015 ‘Justice League’ movie

Motion/Captured is reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is close to finalizing a deal with Warner Bros. to be the new Batman, and to star in 2015′s “Justice League” movie. But, we might see him don the cape and cowl sooner than that.
Motion/Captured speculates we might see JGL as Batman in the upcoming “Man of Steel,” which is the only possibility I can think of to sneak Bats in a DC movie before 2015, since WB has no other comic book-related projects until “Justice League.”
Now here’s where things get interesting. The more insistent the drumbeat has become, the more poking around I’ve been doing, and it’s looking like we may see Gordon-Levitt in the suit earlier than that. They’re a long way from filming anything “Justice League” related, but they appear to be solidifying deals for Gordon-Levitt and, potentially, at least one other actor from the Nolan films to do… something.
It’d be awesome, to say the least. And, WB wouldn’t have to keep strictly to the Nolanverse.
As you may or may not know, at the end of “The Dark Knight Rises,” Bruce Wayne fakes his death and Gordon-Levitt’s character, Robin, discovers the Batcave and all of Batman’s toys and vehicles, no doubt planning to carry on the mantle. This marks the end of filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s involvement in anything Batman related, so it would be a perfect jumping off point for a new take on an old character. So, while there’d have to be some connection to the Nolanverse simply because they’ll be using a character from “The Dark Knight Rises,” the new Batman, and the new Batman movies, don’t have to be 100 percent immersed in the Nolanverse.
I can’t say this surprises me. Gordon-Levitt is an insanely popular actor right now and inking him into a multipicture deal would do wonders for WB and DC, and for fans. They seemed to accept him as the person to carry on the legend, so now we have a chance to see what he can do.
