6 movies you should watch this Halloween season

The idea of what’s scary is completely subjective. For instance, I don’t find “The Exorcist” to be scary, but I have a friend who had to pause the movie a dozen times during his first viewing, just so he could catch his breath. It’s the “to each his own” kind of thing.

Hence why I didn’t title this “6 terrifying movies to watch this Halloween” because you might call bullshit on my list because something doesn’t terrify you. Instead, I’ll tell you which movies scared the hell out of me, I’ll recommend them, and you decide if you want to give them a go or not. Check out the list after the jump.

Matthew Vaughn out as director for ‘X-Men: First Class’ sequel; Bryan Singer might fill the void

Deadline is reporting “X-Men: First Class” director Matthew Vaughn is not returning to direct the movie’s sequel, which will follow the “Days of Future Past” storyline. Producer Bryan Singer might fill that void, though, which doesn’t bother me one bit since I like 2000′s “X-Men” and it’s sequel “X2,” both of which Singer directed.

Awesome: My tweet ended up on a bonus segment of ‘Talking Dead’

Man oh man. I’m nerding out so hard right now: I’m watching the 15-minute bonus segment of the most recent “Talking Dead” and around the 3:15 mark, the panel discusses a question I tweeted to them. How cool.

Overall, the extra segment is fun, and I liked the discussion about the person who was in the woods watching Carol as she began operating on the zombie she killed. Check out the complete segment below:

‘Evil Dead’ remake trailer is spooky and kind of awesome

I’m not the biggest fan of remakes and reboots, especially if the original movie is already awesome. Buuuuuut I’ll give exception to the “Evil Dead” remake based on its debut trailer alone. It’s a red band trailer, so consider it NSFW.

Creepy, right?! I dig it.

In ‘Hobbit’-related news: Denny’s wants you to eat like someone from Middle-Earth

I love food. I consider myself a foodie, and my gut is testament to that. So, needless to say, I’m going to buy into this whole “Hobbit”-related menu Denny’s will have cooking up beginning Nov. 6. It will have 11 items and it kind of all looks delicious (as delicious as Denny’s can look).

Star Wars eyeglasses: If only I could trip over a small bag of money, or have a bank error of $500 in my favor (like in Monopoly)

I’m a huge Star Wars nut. I’ve seen every movie, every television show, every holiday special and have read most every book. But how cool would it be if I could do all those things again, but while wearing some designer Star Wars glasses?

But, for $499 a pop, it looks like I might not get my chance. Them some expensive frames! Hit the jump to see more.

Teaser for teaser trailer (lolwut?), new images from ‘Iron Man 3′

Something Hollywood loves doing these days is creating teasers for upcoming movie trailers. It’s actually really stupid, but that alone won’t stop the dolts from doing it, so here’s a teaser for the first “Iron Man 3″ trailer, set to debut Tuesday, Oct. 23.
