Halloween surprise: ‘V/H/S’ sequel coming

“V/H/S” is one of the best horror films I’ve seen in the last decade, and now it’s getting a sequel. The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive, in which they say:
Gareth Evans, who directed The Raid, and Eduardo Sanchez, director of The Blair Witch Project and Lovely Molly, are co-writing and co-directing segments of a second installment of V/H/S, the hit horror anthology that had people fainting at the Sundance Film Festival.
Joining Evans and Sanchez for V/H/S/2 are Jason Eisener, won directed Hobo With a Shotgun, Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre) and Sanchez’s producing partner Gregg Hale.
In the new movie, Adam Wingard, the helmer behind You’re Next and A Horrible Way to Die, is directing a full segment, while Simon Barrrett, the writer of Wingard’s pics who also penned two segments of V/H/S, will make his directorial debut.
Sanchez is co-directing his section with Hale and also co-wrote it with his Lovely Molly scribe Jamie Nash. Evans is co-directing his segment with Tjahjanto.
The addition of Sanchez is most exciting to me. I am a big fan of “The Blair Witch Project” and consider it to be one of the most perfect horror films that accomplished so much with so little. I’m eager to see what Sanchez comes up with.
Here’s the trailer for “V/H/S” to give you an idea of what the sequel might be like:
