‘Iron Man 3′ villains revealed? Possibly, and it sounds plausible and (maybe) awesome
I like Iron Man. I like his attitude and his style. I also really liked “Iron Man,” but was so-so on “Iron Man 2.” My biggest gripe with the second movie was the boooooooring villain, Whiplash. Even Sam Rockwell’s performance as Justin Hammer couldn’t save the movie from mediocrity.
Up until this morning, I was “meh” on the idea of “Iron Man 3.” It needs to be a better movie than its predecessor, and that means it needs a better villain, or even villains. But this morning, Latino Review posted what they claim are confirmed reports of Iron Man’s enemies in the upcoming third film.

Alright, so, good news: Marvel is, in fact, doing the Extremis storyline. Also, interesting news: Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin. Kingsley has been attached for a while and fans speculated he’d play the Mandarin, but Marvel’s been quite about it all. To me, the Mandarin isn’t a fun villain. He’s boring and somewhat cheesy, but maybe they’ll change him up a bit for the movie; modernize him a bit.
Another bit of interesting “Iron Man 3″ news is that we will see the Iron Patriot suit, made famous by Norman Osborn in the “Dark Avengers” series. The Superficial has photos of James Badge Dale wearing the armor on set. Is Dale playing a member of the Extremis army? Is he just modeling the suit? We’ll find out soon enough.
I’ll say this: My interest is piqued for “Iron Man 3.” Let’s see if Marvel can keep it that way.
