Talk nerdy to me: 5 movie characters that could mesh well with the Avengers

Man, I Love Films recently tossed together a couple top-5 lists of movie characters they think would be good fits in the Avengers superhero team. I thought this was a fun read, and decided to make my own list.

Rick Deckard, from “Blade Runner”
Not every Avenger needs to be superhuman. Sometimes a team needs a streetwise, no-nonsense figure-outer, and Deckard fits that bill. He’s brave and smart, good with a gun and is the man when it comes to thinking outside of the box. He’s not flashy, but what he lacks in that area he makes up with pure charisma.

Cobb, from “Inception”
Tony Stark is a genius. Bruce Banner is a genius. Cobb is a genius, but of a different kind. Cobb’s abilities and skills are unique, and would translate well into the Marvel Universe. As an Avenger, I can see Cobb as a spy to the max, with an uncanny and magic-like ability to play his targets and invade their minds. No super powers necessary!

The Bride, from “Kill Bill”
What Black Widow does with guns, The Bride does with swords. The two would be the perfect one-two punch on the ground, and The Bride’s grit helps balances out Black Widow’s subtlety.

Rockhound, from “Armageddon”
Every team needs a wild card, and Rockhound is that man for the Avengers. Again, we have another genius here, but he’s on the crazy side of the coin. He has a good heart but is more reckless than Tony Stark, and could provide some good times to the Avengers team. And if there’s one thing about the wild card, is they always pull through when you need them most. Kind of how Rockhound did in “Armageddon.”

Neville Longbottom, from “Harry Potter”
Do I even need to explain this pick? Neville is the unsung hero, the guy you never expect to come out on top. He’s a champion to those who need a champion the most, and he’s as humble as they get. He’s brave and smart, and would be the magician the Avengers need (especially since we have yet to see Doctor Strange yet in a movie). Neville will also provide the comedic relief, but will always be there when you need him. His skill and talent in herbology will help out, too, and I think he’d be best pals with Bruce Banner for some reason.
