Boosting the queue: Netflix and Weinstein Co. agree to exclusivity deal

It was bound to happen: A major motion picture company has finally inked a deal with a streaming service for exclusive rights to their films.
The Weinstein Co. and Netflix came to an agreement recently on a multiyear deal, where Netflix gets licensing rights to movies released by Weinstein Co. These movies include Oscar hopeful “The Artist,” as well as, “W.E.” and “The Intouchables.”

But while on the topic: I think this is a fantastic move in the right direction, as it finally shows distributors can “get it” when it comes to how their audience views their products.
