She would’ve shot Greedo first; or maybe just punched him to smithereens
A good friend sent me this link, and upon clicking on it, I was greeted by this picture:
You might not recognize her, but her dad gets the greatest love-hate response from his fans that this galaxy has ever seen.
That’s George Lucas‘ daughter, Amanda. She’s a mixed martial arts fighter and is set for some big showdown in Tokyo. The Sports Illustrated article is pretty lengthy, as it not only details (in great length) the sports side of all of this (duh, it’s SI), but also gets her feelings on the cross-promotion she has to put up with.
It’s no shock that promoters want to use one of the most recognizable brands to plug their upcoming MMA events. Amanda doesn’t seem to mind too much, either:
“Japanese fans are fanatical about Star Wars. I get it and I appreciate it,” the 30-year-old Amanda said. “I’m very proud of my family and my father’s accomplishments. It’s just about finding that good balance.”
The rest of the article is quite interesting, too. It goes on to describe how Amanda dated her now-husband for a decade before they got hitched, and how not bringing up her father’s worth helped the relationship.
As a rule, Amanda and Jason, who dated for 10 years before they were married in 2010, never brought up her billionaire father if they didn’t have to. In the wrong hands, that information courted opportunists, who’d show up on their doorstep inquiring about ways to get to the filmmaker and his fortune.
Jason said he and Amanda have always worked for their own financial stability without any assistance from her father, and they’ve had to be cautious with her identity for their own protection.
