‘Game of Thrones’ tease: New poster whets the appetite for season 2

Now with even more sex and violence!
Indeed. And I cannot wait.
The show’s first season was one of the best television experiences last year. Author George R.R. Martin doesn’t write for the fainthearted, but does this look like a man who cares about your sensibilities?

Nope.
For those unfamiliar, the HBO show “Game of Thrones” is based off Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy series. Season one followed the first book, also named “Game of Thrones.” Season two will follow the second book, “A Clash of Kings.”
Often referred to as the American J.R.R. Tolkien, Martin has done the nearly impossible in creating a believable world that has one foot planted firmly in reality, and the other firmly in fantasy. His ability to mesh the two without being boring or too fantastical is what helps his story the most. And it’s what I believe helped land it on HBO.
The Blu-ray/DVD release of the show’s first season will hit the streets March 6. Look for a review of the Blu-ray edition shortly after that date.
And, if you have HBO, the network’s been showing season one in preparation for the home video release, as well as the second season. So, check it out any which way you can.
