October 2007

I know it’s been awhile and for that I”m sorry. I know how much everyone depends on me to brighten their day. Well I’m back! Kind of. This is just a quick entry to let you know that I’m alive.

I’m alive.

There ya go. What more does one really need?

I’ll delve into the following later…

* I had my 22nd surgery this last Friday and during the procedure was graced with the presence of a cute medical student, who got to watch me get carved up as I was sprawled out, face down and naked on an operating table. Classy.

* Performed standup for the first time in months, did great, thought it might be a viable career choice then went back to work only to have my soul crushed by ‘the man’.

* I am having to currently fight with a group of people who are supposed to help me because they are too incompetent to do much of anything! “Unions Work!” No they don’t.

* I moved into a house with my current roommate and another guy. My current roommate lives to watch TV and that’s it. My new roommate, who I’ve known for ten years, is driven and motivated to make the most of life and rarely watches TV. The wackiness is about to ensue at Joel Manor!

That’s about all I’ve got for now. I’m off to work a job I loathe, to save money so I’ll be able to quit that job and move to CA where I will pursue a career in comedy and writing.

Today will be a great day. Also, happy Halloween, you godless, Satan worshiping, heathens. Sorry. I was raised in a super Christian home and never celebrated Halloween growing up. It’s the devil’s birthday, right?

I would also like to thank Jason Black for his excellent job as host. There is none better and the OKC Comedy Scene will miss you. You are a legend, sir.

Thank you all again for joining us for this special event and for supporting local comedy. The show proved that OKC is ready to support a great comedy scene. I look forward to giving OKC more events in the future to laugh at, and to be proud of in the future.

OKC Comedy Night 2007 is this Friday. Tickets are going fast so get them now. This show will sell out so don’t wait until day of.

I want to answer some of the more frequent questions I’ve gotten asked about the show.

This is an all ages show. Does this mean it’s geared towards all ages? Nope. This is a show of professional adult comedians doing material that you would hear in a comedy club or on HBO.

Yes, there will be booze. Stage Center has an impressive bar so you can get good and liquored up before, during or even after the show.

Tickets are available HERE or by calling 405 297-2264 or by visiting the Civic Center Box office.

This is going to be a great event and there is nothing else like it in OKC. And at only ten bucks, you can’t lose. We’ve got 8 comics who travel the country and work professionally as comedians as well as Comedy Central’s Nathan Anderson, for one night only in one location.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Watch for Jason Black on Thursday morning on FOX 25 at 7:45 also listen all week to Joey and Heather, the Buzz, and KJ 103 for free tickets.

Also check out our feature in the Gazette tomorrow!

See you Friday!

Too often people complain that there is little to do in OKC.

This prompted myself and Jason Black to get a show together of young, professional, standup comedians to converge for one night in OKC. I have total faith in the lineup and promise that this will be an unforgettable evening of comedy. And it’s only ten bucks! You can’t beat that.

It would be cool to get the support of everyone that reads this. It would also be cool if those three people told all of their friends. YOWZA!

I’m going to be doing standup at a show I’m producing in downtown OKC on Friday October 12th at 8pm. It’s called OKC Comedy Night 2007 and it’s me and seven other comics for only ten bucks. It’s going to be at Stage Center and there is going to be booze so that means the drunker you are the funnier I’ll seem.

You can get tickets here or by calling 297-2264 or at the Civic Center Box Office.

Not only is this a one night performance featuring great standup comedians, but the headliner of the show is Comedy Central’s Nathan Anderson who is in town for one night only to do this show. Just for you Oklahoma City!

I really want to sell this thing out since it’s a one time event and It’ll be my first time on stage since my series of surgeries. I’m now a woman. Not really but after 21 surgeries you’d think I’d be.

If you could pass this information and get all your friends to go it would be great. It’s gonna be a great show and there is nothing like it in Oklahoma City.

I’ll see you there!
