I went to the bank last night to deposit a check. As they were closed I was just going to use the ATM. I turned the corner to pull into my bank and almost hit a cop. Not in his car but rather he ran in front of my car. I stopped and he gave me that cop glare like it was my fault he ran in front of my car. He was running towards my bank.
I looked to see where he was running from and noticed about five police cars parked in different places around the bank and across the street from the bank with their lights off. I am pretty sure that I happened upon something I didn’t want to be a part of. I drove past my bank thinking they would think that I was just someone driving down the street. The further I got down the road two more police cars passed me going in the opposite direction towards the bank.
Great. Now I looked like I was leaving the scene. I kept going and turned down a side street. A side street that was a dead end. That means I had to turn around and go back towards the bank. So now I’ve almost hit a cop, and I’m clearly driving back by the bank I purposely avoided.
There were still a bunch of cops there but they didn’t notice me. I drove away and didn’t deposit the check. The point of all of this is to serve as a testimony to my stupid and unfounded fears. I was going to deposit a check and somehow that ended with the culmination of events that made me think I was going to either get shot or mistaken for an accomplice in a thwarted bank heist. There was nothing to indicate any of those things would have happened, but that’s just the way my mind works.
