Just amazing how deeply the emotions run! Having followed all those Cowboy teams that fought the good fight and came up short, this season has been deeply satisfying.

Congrats to Pickens, Holder, and Gundy! I applaud the commitment and effort. The years to come will show that you have succeeded in building more than a winning team - you have taken a huge step toward reshaping a culture. Quality young men who believe they will win, give great effort, a show class in victory and defeat. Makes me proud to be a Cowboy fan!

I grew up an OU fan as a kid, mainly because "everyone" liked the Sooners and it was a good way to get under my OSU parents' skin. However, there was never a question when it came time to go to college...it was always OSU. I endured the Brent Parker drop in 1988 as a freshman and that moment is when the hatred for the Sooners really emerged. I endured several awful seasons including my senior year at OSU, the 0-10-1 season when I sat in the stands half frozen in the snow at homecoming. I promised I was going to sit through each and every game that year so one day when we finally were good I could say "I was there when we went winless and I'm still here to say I'm a lifelong fan." I've seen defeat snatched from the jaws of victory more times than I care to remember since 1988. Thinking specifically of the KSU drive that ended in a TD as time expired in 1990, the Colorado fake field goal for a TD, the debacle in Tulsa when TU scored over 20 points in about 3 minutes, the tie with OU in 1992 when one of the Lashar kids kicked the last second FG (I told my friends I was going to take a flag off the top of the goalpost when we won...so much for that), and let's not forget the second half meltdowns against TX a few years ago. I have been there for several signature wins though: 1995 at OU, 2001 vs OU, Nebraska with Josh Fields at QB, and last but not least, this year's win vs OU to clinch the outright conference championship and a BCS bowl. Many years of painful memories have been eased this season.

Congratulations Cowboys players and coaches. You've made us proud.

I became a cowboy fan the fall of '79. Being a hayseed from eastern Oklahoma, I really hadn't thought much about OSU and sports. OSU was simply a place to get my doctorate. One fall Saturday as I was walking across campus, studying as I was walking, the crowd in the stadium went wild cheering. It startled me, and reminded me that there was more to college life than bookwork. I never missed another home game.
I have endured the "dropped pass", ice bowl, balls careening off helmits, losses snatched from the jaws of wins, and the grand ole "rustoleum". Everything the cowboy faithful have all endured.
I am from a small eastern Oklahom town where roads are named after OU greats-Selmon brothers and JC Watts.
Most people in town are OU fans even though they don't know why. Very few have attended college much less a university like OU. But they never fail to give their uninformed opinion of how OU is great and OSU is not. Beating the Sooners this year doesn't neccessarily give me ammunition as much as it gives the Sooner fans cause to pause and realize they are no longer the only college in the state playing for something besides a win in a also ran bowl. This win legitimizes our football program as an elite. It also has dramatically lessened the ignorant comments from fans from other schools to a point that is tolerable. I love hearing "wait till next year" from Sooner fans. In conclusion, I will never be anything other than a cowboy fan no matter the scores or the records, but this year it is easier to strut a little. Go pokes.

I was a freshman at OSU in 1977. I didn't have enough money for a ticket but I went to the stadium for a game with Kansas State. I knew if I waited outside Lewis Field I could get in and watch the 4th quarter for free. I was standing on the north side of the stadium before kickoff and noticed something hit the ground in front of me. I picked it up and it was a ticket to the game. Someone had climbed to the top row and let the ticket fly over the side. I hurried inside and grabbed the first seat available.(there were plenty) I don't remember much about the game except big John Corker and Dexter Manley put on a show. I've been to several games since then, including season tickets when Thomas and Sanders were on the roster, but nothing ever compared to that game in 77. I enjoyed paying that free ticket forward a few times, always a pleasure.

Great Stories....especially Mr. Goodpaster who I have had the privledge of meeting.

I have similiar stories of the highs and lows I have personally experienced ('91 grad) ...the ball off Rockins facemask, The Ice Bowl, and the questionable penalty on Limbrick (I prefer that over the focus on Parker)

The highs for me have to be Dr. Death pinning Steve Williams, Big Countrys half court shot vs. Mizzou and of course JL III trey to send to final four.

Even when we were up 34 - 3 against OU I still couldn't believe we would win. This team doesn't buy into that and this year has created more of a sense of we will win vs. we will find a way to lose.

Very proud of the Pokes, fellow alumni, coaches, etc. and very much appreciative to Mr. Pickens for realizing what it takes to make a winning program and demanding excellence.

I was born bleeding orange. My parents both attended Oklahoma State as did my grandfather. So, it has been a true tradition for us. My parents have had football tickets for over 40 years and when one of them didn't go, either I or my two sisters, got to go. My parents were those fans that would sit through the snow in the 4th quarter when we were behind 30 points. Naturally, that loyalty was passed on to my sisters and I. We all three attended OSU and were at Lewis field for the low times and the high times. I married an OSU alum and we lived in Oklahoma until after our second child was born. We have lived out of the state for 8 years now and my one wish is that my children would bleed orange like the rest of the family. My fear was that their loyaly would be for burnt orange or raider red. So, we dilute their clothing options with bright orange; we send them to Grandparent's University every summer; and we do our best to form their fingers into an acceptable "go pokes" gun. This year has meant that they are interested in a place we call "home". We live a nomatic-type life, moving where the jobs take us. So, the fact that our children are watching OSU and are excited about being a part of it, assures us our children will always have a place where they feel welcome and at home. Thank you to the coaches, players and fans for helping feed the next generation a big dose of cowboy pride.

I have been a Cowboys fan for 30 years, considering I am 35 that is most my life. I love OSU and even had the privilege to walk on the practice team as a punter several years back. At the begining of the season I told myself I would be happy with a BCS bowl. I was completely devestated with the loss at ISU, I even shed a few tears (my wife thought I was crazy. I was so proud of the way the team handled the loss and the circumstances surrounding it. The way the team came back together and demolished the Sooners was great. I can't wait to see us take down Stanford. It has been a great season and I couldn't be more proud.
