All access on ESPN, bad scene for Bob. Venables eating an apple, watching film, feet on desk, bad scene. Since Mike left, before the Big 12 Title game in ’03, and Bob turned the defense over to Venables, Defense has been a disgrace. Make no mistake, those road game loss’s correlate with the leaving of Mike. Nothing is mentioned about that. It is what it is.

Kind of a silly assessment. Sounds like the Sooner defense as been coached to say that. Feels like there has been a ton of pre-game misdirection coming out of both teams camps though. Not sure why though, both teams know exactly who the other team is at this point. Yes, FSU will be a big option run threat, and everyone knows it.

Don’t be fooled, Sooners. EJ will have so many designed runs this game that scrambling won’t really matter. Another stat, when he gets flushed out of the pocket and doesn’t run but decides to pass, he completing over 85% for his career.

EJ Manual is tricky. Best I can say about him is an adjuster. He adjust to whatever you give him. He has the ability to do whatever he wants. I agree that he likes to sit in the pocket more but so did Charlie Ward. The bad part about guys like EJ is that although he likes to do something like sit in the pocket it doesn’t mean that he can’t and won’t hurt you when he is forced to adjust to something else. EJ isn’t a pocket passer or a runner. He is what you call a playmaker.

FSU has not had to open their playbook. It should be a good game, seeing which brother is quicker in figuring out the other.

Go check out the fourth quarter of the FSU Clemson game and the Chick-Fil-A Bowl from last year. EJ is plenty capable of executing the option, designed QB runs, scrambling to make passing plays, and scrambling to make first downs.

Having a QB that is not a threat to make a play with his feet.
Getting overhyped about the run game against an unranked team.

Having 6 kickers and 4 QB’s and no depth in the lines.
Questionable Special team play.
Giving up 400+ yards to an unranked team.
Being ranked #1 without having earned it.

Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, Florida State will give OU all it can take. The game is in enemy territory, FSU has a good team and the OU secondary is suspect. Sharks? Tulsa showed them to be minnows. I hope Stoops had the secondary focusing on making correct reads and communicating with each other. The linebackers and defensive line must be ready for a running quarterback and covering the middle.

Mark Stoops may have the FSU defense ready but I think the OU offense will do fine, especially having Stills back to complement Broyles. I feel the jury should still be out for Whaley as one game does not a star make. The offensive line must run block and allow the running backs to gain around four yards a carry. If they do that the passing game will be great. FSU cannot defend both.

Has Stoops used the bye week well. We will see on Saturday. GO SOONERS!!!!!
