I believe Jenni was referring to Perkins’ reputation as a tough guy in her title. She’s saying that it’s no surprise that he is fighting the charges against him that he claims are false. I too was a bit confused at the title until I started reading the article.

I’m with Jenni on this one, here’s hoping that Perkins’ pristine reputation for almost a decade didn’t go down the drain with one night of foolish choices.

And even more, here’s hoping if he is guilty that he doesn’t make it worse by denying it only to be proven guilty with evidence later.

The Thunder homer in me believes Perkins on this one, he’s given us no other reason to doubt him.

Problem with alot of Star Athletes. They must understand you must always be aware of your surroundings; and where you are in these United States…AtAll Times !!!

Here you have a Black man 6’10′ tall 280-300 pounds ; he can be rather intimidating to anyone; even though he posed no threat to the police; they viewed him that way.

I think he was smart to hire a Lawyer. In Sports your off court, off field image is very important to your career.
Get the “Bad Boy” image and no one wants you on their Team; not these Days
and for the Money that they make; most teams don’t want the headache .

Yes, I said Black man because the reality IS…We are viewed in a different light socially in America.

Let’s face it things are better; but we still have alot of work to do …
In terms of racial profiling in this country. by the way was there a breatherlizer test administered in Perkins case?
What did it register?

Don’t let it fool you. “Regularly comment on stuff I’ve written”??? Never have I commented on anything you have written. The story about Perkins made me curious because the facts were not out. First time comment, last time comment, last time evn thing about reading of your items. If you can deny spewing out of both sides of your mouth on this subject, knock yourself out. Of the few people that read this blob, you should also read what this irresponsible wannabe journalist blogged on 8/14/2011. It comes out of both sides of the mouth. Hopefully Mr. Perkins will not grant you the time of day when the time comes. The Thunder front office maybe will discuss your access to anything that has to do with their club. Daily is out and the continuance of reading the Ft. Worth Telegram and other publication’s is still in for me. Why I bothered to read this still baffles me, as I have not read your stabs at journalism for a long time. Longer than it has been since I quit reading anything by Tramel.

So do you believe that it is “No surprise” as the title indicates or that “what happened in Beaumont just seems out of character for Perkins” as stated in the body? Looks to me suspiciously like the title was designed to get views instead of actually representing the content of the post. Either that or you don’t know what you think. Either way it is garbage and makes me want to puke. lol Thats a little bit of a stretch, but seriously?
