OU just won their 7th Big XII crown, Sam is on pace to capture RoY in the NFL, and the entire Texas Longhorn program has absolutely imploded. How do those apples taste? Good idea on the sculpture pose. I doubt the university would really use this for Sam's Heisman statue, but I would certainly like it if they did. Every Heisman season has a signature play that shows you what kind of a player and a competitor the recipient of the award was for his team. That moment (the Bedlam leap) was it for Sam. It didn't matter if he had the ball in his hands, or if he scored---the most important thing was, in one of the most important games of the season, Sam didn't do a safety slide like most quarterbacks would have. He chose to leave his feet and try to squeeze out every last inch from that play. It was just an incredible show of competitive spirit. Man, Hippie Killer, what a difference a few years makes, eh?
