New Heisman Park statue revealed?

A fun photo is making the electronic rounds.

Oklahoma football fans should get a kick out of photo-shopped spoof. I suspect this won’t end up being the design for the Sam Bradford statue that will one day be dedicated outside the stadium in Norman, but no moment was more dramatic in this Heisman-winning season.

Heisman Park, as that area just east across Jenkins from the stadium, has been sprouted four bronze statues in recent years. It’s a cool way to celebrate and honor the Sooners’ Heisman winners.

OU could do much worse than use this as its template.

Any pic of Sam would be Great.

BOOMER SOONER

Am I the only person that finds this strange? He didn’t have the ball in his hands when he was flipped upside down. Hey let’s make a statue out of something that never happened.

Not only did he not have the ball in his hands. But he did not score. He was out of bounds and his eyes are criss-crossed. But, Sooners are happy to make up their own version of history as they cheat their way through life. 45-35.

Yeah and Texass fans just feed recruits alcohol, drugs, and sex. A much better existence I’m sure.. 35 > 45 = NC Game > Fiesta Bowl.

what is the date of the actual statue unveiling? Is it this fall sometime?

Vary interesting read :d

Man, Hippie Killer, what a difference a few years makes, eh? OU just won their 7th Big XII crown, Sam is on pace to capture RoY in the NFL, and the entire Texas Longhorn program has absolutely imploded. How do those apples taste?

Good idea on the sculpture pose. I doubt the university would really use this for Sam’s Heisman statue, but I would certainly like it if they did.

Every Heisman season has a signature play that shows you what kind of a player and a competitor the recipient of the award was for his team. That moment (the Bedlam leap) was it for Sam.

It didn’t matter if he had the ball in his hands, or if he scored—the most important thing was, in one of the most important games of the season, Sam didn’t do a safety slide like most quarterbacks would have. He chose to leave his feet and try to squeeze out every last inch from that play. It was just an incredible show of competitive spirit.
