Miss Jenni, we are still waiting for your followup article with quotes from the Sooner players and coaches about how confident they are of a victory. Are you going to ask them if they are over confident and then print their replies? Inquiring minds want to know how confident the Oklahoma players and coaches are in a victory over the Cowboys this Saturday. We want names and quotes. Hurry up. Time is a wasting.

In your artice posted on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, you show once again your complete incompetency in reporting anything football. You state, talking about OU quarterback Joey Halzle, "He failed to snap the ball in time. He tripped over his lineman's feet." Anyone with ANY football knowledge realizes that it's the CENTER who snaps the ball, not the quarterback. And again, anyone with ANY football knowledge realizes that many quarterbacks, including pro's, get their feet stepped on by their offensive linemen. If I remember correctly, the replay showed that Halzle was stepped and and tripped by a lineman. I wonder where your experience was gained that would make anyone think that you are a competent football reporter.

The Sooners could do WITHOUT your ill-informed OPINIONS/commentaries!

I totally agree with you about not giving Halzle more snaps in games when we were sure winners. The coaches focus too much on starters and need to rest them when the lead is big. It was an entertaining game once Joey got hot.

Sam has a problem with freshman nerves and away games. We couldn't win the National Championship with him in a different city. The Big 12 is not guaranteed with him, since its not at Owen field.

Oh, and tell whichever one of them who QBs to throw the ball to Malcolm Kelly more. The ladies love to see Malcolm in action.

bob stoops is a great coach. the people who keep complaining he isn't don't know anything about football. sure he's no barry switzer, but not everyone can recruit thugs and gang bangers and still sleep at night. bob just goes for those who like to puff on the chiba a little or get violent after a few drinks. i can almost come close to guaranty you his graduation rate is probably a little bit better than switzer's was. and that's really what's important here since OU is a place of higher education and not just about football.

Sooner Sense, November 19, 2007:
How about this thought. Our starter goes down, we have a huge offensive line, great backs, let’s line up and run the FB and give our QB some time on the field to get used to the speed of the game, but we had him waggling, making audible calls and then barely getting the ball snapped, no wonder he was terrible for about 1 1/2 quarters. Coaching put the kids in a bad position to be successful…When is the last time the sooners won a game that really counted…Think back …..it has been a while….Good staffs make changes and prepare thier teams for the worst….This team was not ready to take the next step to play for a national championship… Check out my top ten reason OU does not win big games anymore.

10. John Blake doesn’t recruit for OU anymore

9. Mike Stoops left for Arizona and now beats top 20 teams

8. Coach Stoops, now uses a Halloween mask to now scare opponents

7. 2.5 million dollars lessens the sting of losing

6. The defense makes big hits only after the opponent has gained 10 yards

5. The opponent’s best receiver can always get behind the OU secondary.

4. Coach Wilson needs a least two quarters to make adjustments instead of using a supposed beavy of running backs and huge offensive line.

3. Our backup QB never plays as Stoops pads statistics instead preparing contingency plans.

2. Our defense likes to make games exciting be letting teams stay in games.

1. And the number 1 reason OU can’t and won’t win a BIG game is

The fans, coaches, and athletic department like the feeling of MEDIOCRITY!!
