ENHS is loosing an excellent coach, but more importantly, a quality individual. You leave behind something much better than what you were given, and that is one of the best character traits you can pass on to these young adults who look to you for guidance. Casualobserver…that is both a broad and extremely ignorant statement. Many coaches are excellent teachers, while some are not. But can’t that be said about those who strictly teach? From experience (once coaching football at ENHS and since moving to an administrators position), I know that a minimum of half of the coaches on the football staff were Pre-AP and/or AP classroom teachers…positions not given or taken lightly. So, please, think (or at least research) before you speak.

A football coach is only “allowed” to bring in guys as assistants if there are teaching positions available for those guys. I’ve personally never heard of them firing a teacher to make room for assistant coaches. I didn’t say it hasn’t happened I’m just not aware that it has. You can’t just fire a teacher now that you have a new football coach. Teachers have to go on “Plan of Improvement” if they are not meeting expectations and then if they don’t “improve” then they can be fired. Not enough time left in the school year to do that just to make room for an assistant football coach.

So as usual, bringing in a new football coach also requires replacing teachers…which of course will NOT be the best ones, since most who prefer coaching are not too worried about their classes…

Did you here about the freshman from Laverne who won State today? He shot 6 under for the tourney. Awesome. His name is Mason Overstreet. Tulsa World had an article on him in today’s paper and then interviewed him again today for another article. Sure would be nice to here about a rural Oklahoma kid doing good and going to a public school near the panhandle of ok. I bet they don’t have an equivalent Oak Tree Golf course in Laverne. How about a little blurb?

You think Midwest city learned from their growing pains last season? I love my Bombers, but it was PAINFUL to watch last season. Hope they get rid of whatever it was that was making them play that bad.

As for Choctaw, good luck. They got the players. Just something about that program just can’t seem to get it together. Maybe these guys can change that..

I’ve never heard of Jaylen Lowe. I have however received phone calls and emails from my classmates who live out of state. They were able to see Stevie Clark put up massive numbers against one of their top teams in the state.

It’s obvious when a small community pulls together to vote for one of their own on vs voting on actual overall ability amongst the kids on these polls.

I was surprised to see the absence of Kasadi Reimers from Asher. She pitched 5 complete games in one day while only walking 2. Legendary coach, Merl Bowens of Asher, stated “I have never seen any pitcher throw 5 games in the same day and win them all.”

We have some good HS student basketball players. However, Stephen Clark is the “Top” player in the state of Oklahoma. Stephen Clark scored 38 points last year in Mannheim, Germany during the Youth International tournament.
I didn’t agree w/his choice to go to Vegas. However, he came back and redeemed him self. Hands down, Stephen Clark is the best. I look for big things to happen at OSU w/a returning team. Stephen Clark is a shooter, a good shooter w/speed and agility. Plus, he works hard in practice, a work ethic that is beond approach!!!

I would like to congratulate every one of these outstanding young ladies for a great high school career! They are all winners!! The only one I don’t know is Dionna, but have heard extremely great things about her! Regardless of everyone’s injuries, Sarah’s akillees surgery, Dionna’s ACL, Ashley’s ankle surgery and loss of eye sight in right eye, and Tamara’s ankle injury at State, etc… They have all had big accomplishments and performed above expectations. Really look forward to watching all 5 of these young ladies come together as ONE and beat the Large East team!!! Congrats to all athletes!!!

That is true. I was at the game Mela it came down to coaching & strategy. I’m glad DC made it that far because they were the underdogs the entire season. Wish all the girls luck in the future. Oklahoma really does have some talent when it comes to girls basketball. Hope the talent stays home hopefully play for OU/OSU one year. That would be great.

DC had a good team this year but she sat on the bench. THANX to coach. They should have advanced too but who plays a girl who hadnt played since DC earned theyre winning streak at mid season, up by 8 & 2 minutes left? Clark hurt his package by acting like a spoiled brat in the past. He attempted to control his school and play as if he was Mr. Important when his coach left and he pulled up stakes and headed to Nevada. Basketball wise he is great. Personality wise he is not liked by the majority. Doesn’t this poll prove it?

Its obvious that alot of friends, family, and classmates from Owasso have logged on to vote… lol, and that’s great! Hard to pick but Austin Beene from Achille led class A in scoring with 27 and had 12 rebounds a game. Markell Henderson of Boswell had 22 and 12 a night. Two best seniors in class A I thought. Both were on teams that lost in the Area Tourney but All State should be the best players.
