Union allways starts at 7:30, just like everyone else on east side.

Union has started their games at 7:05 all year. Permission had to be given from the OSSAA. They used to start these games at 8:00 back in the late 80′s and eraly 90′s. Has nothing to do with not wanting to get the fans to the kickoff on time. If the fans are worried about, get their on time by leaving work a little. Will it really matter next week when the four schools from Tulsa all play each other again in Stillwater. That is what people should be upset about. The fact that schools are 10 minues apart, have to drive 90 miles to play each other. Putting many cars on the road and creating travel issues for people having to get off work and travel. Oh yes, and half these people traveling are young teenage drivers who want to go watch their friends play and drive late at night to get home. That is what should be addressed, not a start time of 30 minutes earlier than the other schools.

Jerry, my daughter goes to Westmoore and we had an East Side District assignment this year. The regular season games did kick off at 7:30 however; our playoff game last week against Union kicked at 7:05. Had to leave work at 4 to get there on time. Not a bad sacrifice.

Guess they’ll have to take off work a little early. Vacation leave, sick leave, credit hours, comp hours, leave without pay,. . .people do it everyday.

Scott I staned corrected, but it is still hard to make it at 7, from the Tulsa aera and Muskogee aera.

Jerry, as I wrote in the blog, the west schools have been doing this for two seasons. It’s about getting the games done, so the kids can get home a little earlier.

I thought all East side schools had a police escort for their fans…? Oh maybe that’s incorrect?? That’s the advantage of placing first in your district I guess…

Sounds like starting west side games at 7, is a good way
to keep east fans from getting there on time. Most people
work and will not make it by kickoff, oh well.
