From what I’ve read there seems to be a lot of questions surrounding the Prime Prep Academy. I know Millwood only wishes to play tough competition but one would only hope that they don’t regret playing this controversial team.

you’ll guys stop making excuses, a pee wee football coach could have a better game plan than douglass coaching staff. they run a pee wee football game plan; onlythe i formation all game on offense and then they run a 4-3 defense against a spread offense what in the world are u thinking the safeties playing up like linebackers if iy was not for the kids with the talent the would not have won the 9 games with that coaching staff. furthermore enrollment has nothing to do with being outcoached and unprepared stop making excuses for poor to none coaching skills or football iq by coaches. football is footbal no excuses but being incompetent is different and when u ran a fb dive on 1 yard line when u are winning a game with less than a minute and the other team have no timeout to stop the clock and they run it back 99 yards to win a game that’s coaching; and against a team that has less numbers and less talent ie woodward. okc ps inner city coaching is the worse in the state no doubt about it.

kyle idk what u talking bout we gonna get smashed this is one millwoods players talking so shut that down. first of all we aint douglas so dont put us n douglas position thats the enemy second of all we dont run one play like douglas third of all we keep fighting if we loosing we dont walk around with our head down and get crunchy faces we go hard every play and every game plus it aint gone be on our record if millwood win or loose. o and you lucky i aint playing this game i score three touchdowns a game this Michael Hall wide reciever for millwood number 8.

Again I disagree with you Scott; I know football and played football at a high level. I repeat, I watched the game, and to run a one dimension I formation offense all game and base 4-3 defense and not cover the slot receiver all game. Is bad coaching, Unprepared coaching. From offensive and defensive coached game period. Furthermore to schedule game in which you do not have the coaching ability to coach a little team. I seem Desoto get beat by a team running a similar offense later in the year. Plus, they covered the slot man. We make excuses for inner city coaching; in the (OKC Public school). So, sad we have sportswriter who don’t know the game, but have column. Who write articles about over hyped kids from the internet? Wait tell this season tank again for Douglass. Overrated defense ends and. Coaching staff.

Football is not football when you are playing DeSoto, which would damn near be a 7A school in Oklahoma. And they do things very different down there. Douglass would have been better matched against a DISD school and DeSoto against a Midwest City.

G and OKBraveFan, you guys are free to share your opinions about coaching mistakes, but coaching did not cause Douglass to lose the game against DeSoto. If you truly believe that, you weren’t paying attention to both sides of the ball. Vince Lombardi couldn’t have coached Douglass to a win that day. The only true coaching mistake Willis Alexander made was playing the game in the first place.

DeSoto’s talent level was so far beyond what the Trojans could put on the field, it’s hard to even describe in words — I know, because I had to try to do it. Douglass had maybe three guys who would have competed for starting jobs in the DeSoto lineup. Cayman Bundage could have started for them. Jas’Sen Stoner, maybe. And a couple more would have been close to equals at their positions.

At some point early in the second half of that game — if not before — Alexander’s job became getting his kids out of there without getting them hurt any worse than they already were. Run the clock and get back to OKC.

You can talk about being unprepared or being one-dimensional, but none of it would have mattered that day. Jenks or Union would have needed to be on top of their games to win in Douglass’ position. And we’ll find out just how well they stack up against a program like that in a couple weeks when they play down there against DeSoto and Euless-Trinity.

If you don’t like Alexander or his coaching style, you’re free to critique him on here. We love to hear the fans’ conversations. But acting like he could have done something different against DeSoto to change the outcome is a gross misrepresentation of what occurred that day.

You might be right, but it’s hard to say for sure at this point. Based on some of the stories from Dallas media outlets, Deion and his business partner tried to throw this school together on the fly, so it’s hard to judge just what kind of team they’ll have together. It’s not like this is a well-established program loaded with known talents, like what Douglass faced against DeSoto last year. Sounds like a different scenario. It’s just hard to know what to expect from this team right now. I’ll be keeping an eye on their season from the start to see what it looks like.
