That wasn’t the case at all. Clark was one of two players on the search committee, and actually goes to the same church as Ingersoll. He was quoted as saying he liked the decision. It appears that Springer was not aware of the direction of the search process. Had Springer known that Ingersoll was being interviewed, he probably would have shut it down before the offer was made, and the whole thing would have been avoided.

Were students part of the process that choose Ingersoll?

The feel to the story is that Clark threatened to leave if Ingersoll wasn’t “unhired”.

Kent, the job offer to Ingersoll was rescinded. Douglass and OKCPS went forward with the hiring process, and ultimately settled on Andrews.
