My daughter from Edmond Santa Fe High School won the 2012 Oil Bowl Queen! Santa Fe had a great showing with 2 players, a coach, and the Queen. Edmond North was represented by 1 athlete. Oklahoma had a great showing with all the athletes, WINNING the game…which we are WAY behind in the win column…AND 3 of the 4 Oil Bowl Queen Contestant winners were from Oklahoma and took home honors as: 2012 Oil Bowl Queen, Ms. Congeniality, & 2nd Runner-Up! Not bad for the Okie side of this well known football tradition. Those that talked about no coverage…try being a girl…NOT EVEN A MENTION of ANYTHING anywhere! It ALL should have been covered…lots of time on everyone’s part was given. The girls were there for a couple of days with interviews, resumes, formal dress, and appearances. It was ran very nice, the athletes had a great time and were treated royally, the coaches had a great time, there were @ 8,000 people at the game and it was for a great cause…If for no other reason press should have been covered for the Shiners’ Hospital! If a story should be done…I have pictures of the game and the contestants if they are wanted!!! More than happy to share!

The lack of Oil Bowl coverage is was terrible, our all star players deserve better from the biggest newspaper in Oklahoma. No story whatsoever!
