Jared are you out there? That was a nice post you made a few days ago (We will see how well your “defense” does against us Friday. We will not cry about bad knees, wind, or extra points. It’s not even going to be that close.)

Your right it was not that close

Macmom I share your views on 99% of your post except... and I believed this after the game myself but went back and checked it, the refs were unusually slow at spotting the ball the majority of the game... it was clearly more noticeable when the clock mattered at the end of the game but everything else you posted is very valid... it is my understanding that Guthrie's coach get to practice and prepare the team as well as be there before and after the game... realistically the head coach doesn't make many calls during the game at that level so I ask how much of a punishment is it really?... and I can validate you statement about the Mac coaches as we have had at least 3 move-ins that I know about that were dealt with in a proper manner... two of which are brothers who would've maybe cracked the starting lineup in the WR corps if not solidified it and made it deeper, that are sitting out this year

Both teams played a good game. Props to both O's and D's. Both teams played with great sportsmanship also. With that said, you can say all you want about Guthrie being the best. However don't fail to state the fact that the buffaloes held Guthrie better than any other team has as of yet and we are half the size. If you want to talk about heart, we should probably mention things like the fact (just an example) my son lined up against someone 5in taller than him and 100 lbs heavier than him and held him all day long. I believe that with different weather and refs that would actually man the clock accordingly and spot the ball as they should, there might be different teams playing in Stillwater next week. Not to say that our PATs didn't put us in the position we are in, but you shouldn't speak as if Guthrie just dominated. Lastly, your boys are big and talented athletes, however your coach is I believe manipulative and not necessarily the most honest person in the crowd. Should Guthrie have been in that game? In a sense yes, because it is not the team's fault. On the other hand, the team is a team and pays the consequences when another teammate screws up. ie-your coach. The coach knows the rules that are clearly stated and he should have checked to make sure all were followed not come back later and acted as a martyr. I will say that the McAlester coaching staff when we moved made sure that all paperwork was done correctly so that we did not break rules. Tell me how one can know and one not? I hope that people are aware of the bad decision that OSSAA has made and the precedent that it will take years to overcome. With that said I wish both Guthrie and Lawton Mac a safe game and a good job to the Guthrie boys for Saturday's win.

My gripes are the OSSAA decision and no one from Guthrie can admit it would've made a difference for Braxton to have played... Guthrie won fair and square and would've undoubtedly had a plan to account for Braxton... But just the dynamic of him in the game changes the game as a whole... I have said and will hold that my attempts are not to attack the players of Guthrie... They are, and I hope the OSSAA is listening, to bring attention to the bad decision... I and every person tied with the program appreciate the compliments that are very much deserved... Guthrie has the best D in the state no arguements and maybe the best rushing O no doubt the played and executed period they are playing next week and we are getting ready for basketball season...

I was not refering to you, just like I am sure you were not comparing McAlesters Offense to a 3 legged deer. I will take you at your word that you are well educated, maybe it is your calculated attack on my sons team that I have a problem with, I understand that you have a legit gripe with the OSSAA but why try to make the Guthrie players look as bad and undeserving as possible, it was not their error nor their reversal of the error that got your ire up. As to Braxtons absence or the wind or the muffed extra points we will never know. I was however impressed with the sportsmanship of the players from McAlester and very impressed with the underrated defense of the Buffs, hats off to them and the defensive coaches.

WOW still no justice for holding the best offense in the state (stat wise). Lets see, normally they rush for 211yards, against Guthries defense it was 60 yards, normally they pass for 288yards against the lucky Guthrie defense it was 142 yards (with 97yards on 3 plays) yep that is it, it was all offense. And Jared, yes we will see how the Bluejays defense does against the high scoring, run offense of the Lawton Mac Highlanders. I will just say with all due respect...good luck

I promise you there was no fear in the McAlester players... the respected those boys talent but showed on the field they could handle them for the most part... and the plays that mattered werent made by Chappel for sure and im not sure which one Brown was... the plays that mattered for Guthrie were made by Davis and Callins and Dutton on offense... The Mac O was stopped as many times as Guthrie's O was, Guthrie's offense just executed a little better in the final mins... as I have said on here the throwback was genius... Guthrie showed the 28 Toss Pass against East Central I believe but threw to the play side and realistically no one accounts for the QB when there is a pass or a run away... and all of these mistakes except the bobbled snap on 4 and less than one were made early when McAlester was winning

In this part of the state we call that a missed snap and a bobble snap that had nothing to do with defense and everything to do with poor execution... You can take credit on one of the failed conversions I guess... But even then the RB slipped after the pass was thrown and fell down even though he was wide open... Sorry defense didn't cause that
