Enough cannot be said about the progress that Edmond Santa Fe has made. But let’s get serious for a moment. Not only did it seem that the players gave up on the game against Jenks, but the coaches also. This is a tough thing to say when so much progress has been made. I think we have some of the best coaches in Oklahoma high school football, however in this game, between Jenks and Edmond Santa Fe someone dropped the ball. I also think we have one of the best quarterbacks in high school football and he plays more like a junior than a sophomore. I believe because of the confidence he has in his ability, he does what we call hogging the ball. In other words, he called his own number much too often. The Trojans blitzed about 90% of the time causing Hansen to throw three interceptions and be stack four time. Tail back, Phillip Sumpter scored on a 27 yard touchdown run and a 17 yard scoring play. Believe it are not, he only touch the football five or six times in the entire game. That within itself tell you something is wrong. I don’t know who is calling plays, but they need to rethink their strategy. In my opinion, Jenks is about ,maybe, 7 points better than Santa fe. And on a good night we could win.
