I would say let jenks play Springdale again, but Allan Trimble shivers at the thought because he’s an overrated coach with a big ego, and anything that makes him look bad he avoids like the plague. He chickened out of playing 4a Clinton and Midwest city in a home and home. Play them against nationally ranked teams jenks and union would be 0-10.

I think the brackets should be east vs. West in the champ game.

All of these programs have great traditions and do it with the players that their school districts have provided them except for obviously Jenks and Union. These two teams play each other every year in week 2 and for the championship. How exciting is that for 6A football. I feel like Lawton was the real 6A champ last year because they do it with what their school has to offer. Out of 4300 kids, you’re obviously going to have a pretty solid football team. I suggest that these two teams avoid district play, play nationally ranked opponents all season, and then compete in Dec. for the 7A title.

Although the NFHS might not have our stats, I have been compiling Tipton’s overall record from the Daily OK, Lawt. Const. and local papers. Anyways, I know for sure Tipton has over 500 program wins with legendary coach Don Royal winning a majority of these games. Not bad for a small school!

No doubt being around longer has helped many of the schools at the top of the list. I’d imagine the Bombers would be in the top 10. I’ll try to check, although our organized records only go back through 1950.

A lot of these schools have been around a lot longer than Mwc too, thus a good reason why more wins have been recorded. Since 2004, they have won tons more games though than the years they were down, ( late 90s, early 00′s). They’ve had 4 10 win seasons the last 4 years, 5 this year. 2 losing seasons since 1950. They’re somewhere in the top 10 in ok.

I’ve seen the NFHS record book and it’d be interesting to go back and see where the discrepancies were between the two. The list here is mostly taken from a list compiled by David Porch, with the exception of the 2005-2011 seasons. I know with the NFHS there’s a certification process that has be be met to get in the record book (as there should be). Many legitimate record holders do not go through the process.

As for the previous comments, I’ll try to check on Midwest City but they were not on the top 10 as of the 2004 list (neither were Sulphur or Davis). The other four were Norman, Muskogee, Seminole and Bristow but I’d have to believe at least one if not more of those would have fallen out of that group.

I look at the National Federation of State High School Associations record book and it does not look anything like this. I guess you guys are probably the definitive source and we probably should not listen to the insiders.

Is this counting jenks revoked wins for cheating? Midwest city should be in the top ten. Not bad for a team less than 70 years old that doesn’t recruit… Sulphur and Davis should be pretty high there too. If Tulsa union played any team that wasn’t made by the pillsbury doughboy they would lose several district games a year…

I’ll have to check on district wins, although I know Tulsa Union hasn’t lost a district game since 1997. As for state titles, Morrison won seven from 1988-94. Shattuck won six in a row from 2003-08. Jenks did the same from 1996-2001.
